私たちは、子どもたちが被害者にならない社会の実現のために、『児童虐待予防教育』の普及を目指しています。

設立経緯
Background of establishment
チア・ザ・チルドレンは、約60年の歴史をもつ、アメリカの児童虐待防止団体チャイルドヘルプを５年に渡り取材した著『チャイルドヘルプと歩んで』の出版を機に設立されました。
Cheer the Children was founded upon the release of this book. The author spent five years reporting on Childhelp, an American child abuse prevention nonprofit with nearly 60 years of history.
拙著でも言及したアメリカでおこなわれている『児童虐待予防教育』は、現代の日本においても喫緊の課題であると考え、同教育の専門講師を養成する仕組みを構築し、日本全国の子どもたちへ教育機会を提供することを目的としています。
This project aims to introduce child abuse prevention programs from the U.S.—which are also featured in my book—to Japan. I believe these programs, which empower children to protect themselves, are essential here as well. Our goal is to train specialist facilitators and deliver these lessons directly to children.

私たちのビジョン
Our vision
児童虐待予防教育は、世界中のすべての子どもにとって欠かすことのできない学びです。複雑化する現代社会、増加する犯罪、そして止まない戦禍。過酷な現状を目の当たりにするたび、私たちはこの教育の必要性を強く実感しています。
私たちの使命は、日本国内に留まりません。国境を越えて活躍できる専門講師（ファシリテーター）を育成し、一人でも多くの子どもたちに「命と未来の守り方」を届けていくこと。それが私たちの願いです。
もしも、世界をめぐる旅人やバックパッカーたちが、この教育を届ける技術を携えていたなら。彼らが出会うすべての子どもたちに「自分を大切にする方法」を伝えることができたなら……。そんな希望に満ちた未来を、私たちは本気で描いています。
Child abuse prevention education is an essential form of learning for every child around the world. In an increasingly complex modern society, amid rising crime and unending conflict, we are repeatedly confronted with harsh realities. Each time, we are reminded of the urgent need for this education. Our mission extends beyond Japan. We seek to train professional facilitators who can work across borders and to deliver lessons on how to protect one’s life and future to as many children as possible. This is our deepest wish. What if travelers and backpackers journeying around the world carried the skills to deliver this education? If they could teach every child they meet how to value and protect themselves… We sincerely envision such a future—one filled with hope.
